Less reliance on carbon-based electricity
Our factory is powered by solar to reduce our reliance on carbon-based electricity. Using solar energy supports a lower-impact approach to manufacturing our meteorological instruments.

Every material choice matters. We address the housing, deployment accessories and electronics individually to reduce the impact of our radiosondes.
Biodegradation depends on environmental conditions and applies to the specified materials, rather than the complete electronic instrument. Recover equipment where possible and direct electronics to appropriate collection and recycling.
Radiosonde housing
Our radiosonde housing contains an organic plastic additive designed to help conventional plastics safely biodegrade in microbe-rich landfill and marine environments.
RoHS-compliant products
All our products are RoHS compliant, restricting hazardous substances, including certain heavy metals, in electrical and electronic equipment.
A fully biodegradable string unwinder
Our string unwinder is fully biodegradable and made entirely from natural materials.
Smaller PCBs and components
Electronics present an environmental hazard. We keep the printed circuit board (PCB) and its components as small as possible to reduce the amount of electronic material and limit its environmental impact.
